About Jim

Dean Witter

In 1987, Jim Midkiff started his career in Dallas, Texas, at what was then Dean Witter.  At Dean Witter, he achieved expert knowledge of investments, and he managed accounts for high net worth clients.  He also earned specific expertise in estate planning, 401(k), retirement plans, and lump sum distributions.

Independent practice

In 2002, after 15 years, Jim left what had become Morgan Stanley to start his practice as an independent financial advisor.  His practice is centered on one thing: putting the client's best interest first, ahead of the interest of any firm. At an independent office, Jim is always free to do this.

Being an accomplished public speaker, he has presented early leave retirement planning seminars to more than 5,000 employees of Dell, Texas Instruments, Southwestern Bell, and other Fortune 100 companies.  Having an extensive knowledge of 401(k) plans, retirement plans, and lump sum distributions, he has educated clients on the markets and retirement planning.
